Rex Barber inducted into the Confederate Air Force Combat Airman Hall of Fame
In the summer 1998, the General Staff of the Confederate Air Force selected Rex Barber and others to be inducted into the Confederate Air Force Combat Airman Hall of Fame. The General Staff of the CAF carefully examined all of the evidence that SYMA had previously presented to the AFAA and made the determination that, insofar as the CAF was concerned, Lanphier did not attack the Yamamoto airplane and Rex Barber was accorded 100% of the credit for the shoot down of Yamamoto for CAF records and was inducted into the Confederate Air Force Combat Airman Hall of Fame on 1 October 1998 at Midland, TX.
