In 2002, SYMA also appealed to the Department of Defense Inspector General seeking again an independent and careful review of the Air Staff’s cover-up. The DOD IG avoided the call for an independent review by stating, “The matter at issue is not one within the purview of the IG DoD to resolve.” Who has oversight of the Department of the Air Force?
